So, I need to move out of my dorm room unless I want the Housing office to charge me extra for living alone in a dorm room meant for two. With the economy the way it is, my parents tell me we just can't afford to spend the extra money, and I completely agree. I am just sad that I'll be saying goodbye to the dorm that I have come to think of as my own. Movie nights, lots of space and privacy are all things that the room gave me that I will miss.
My new roommate, Sarah, seems cool. I haven't spent much time with her, but I don't think we will bother each other much. I know her from choir, and she's an alto like me, which stereotypically means that we are laid back and relaxed. I think it's true for both of us.
Valentine's day was yesterday. I received a lovely package from my mom, one of many she has sent. It had a card and chocolate and some other items in it. I really appreciated it; I am very lucky to have the type of family I have, a caring one. Knowing that makes Valentine's day just another day of the year. Why would I want to celebrate a holiday made by the greeting card industry anyways? If someone really loved me, they wouldn't wait for a specific date to show me how much they care.
By the way... I am proud of the three Blazers participating in All-Star weekend. Rudy had a monster second dunk, Oden hopefully heals his knee quickly, and Roy, well, he just needs to be himself out there on the court... my brother's cat is doing better after having a double ear infection, Noah is such a little trooper... and the title of my blog this week refers to a conversation I had with my little cousin.
